Tamika S. Williams
Tamika Williams was born and raised in Detroit, MI. Tamika is a two-time graduate of Central Michigan University (CMU). From CMU, she received a Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters of Higher Education Administration. At the start of her professional career, Ms. Williams relocated to Ohio to start her journey as an Admissions Advisor in Undergraduate Admissions. After years of recruiting first-year students and guiding them through the enrollment process, she accepted a new position as the new Assistant Director for Diversity and Inclusion in the Career and Leadership Development Center. This position allowed her to utilize her creative skills to create innovative large and small-scale programs, events and establish rapport with corporate recruiters while challenging them to advance their internal DEI strategy. She has over seven years of experience in career and leadership development and admissions.
Since a young age, Tamika has had a creative mind and entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout her younger years, she owned and operated successful businesses that always yielded a profit. Her creativity allows her to quickly come up with business names, plans, and ideas for colleagues, departmental offices and small business owners. This quick and creative thinking led to her recognizing her gift and strength as ideation. Often caught daydreaming and thinking about the future, her keen eye allowed her to see beyond the present. She later reframed her pastime as a skill called futuristic. Her strengths melt together to help others think beyond the now and plan for what's to come through strategic thinking and creative solutions.
